Lwar Naing, PhD

Lwar is a life sciences strategy consultant who focuses on business development, commercial strategy, and market opportunity assessments for a broad range of life sciences companies. Prior to joining Bluestar, Lwar received his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan, where he investigated how TNFRSF13B polymorphisms alter antibody effector functions and B-cell responses in infectious diseases. During his doctoral training, he was awarded a Translational Research Fellowship focused on biomarker and therapeutic target identification, and drug development process. Before pursuing his Ph.D., he completed a post-baccalaureate fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, where he screened for novel HIV-1 maturation inhibitors in collaboration with an industry partner. Lwar received a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park.
